Not sure why, but I laughed.

Jack wakes up at home with a huge hangover.

He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple aspirins next to a glass of water on the side table. And, next to them,a single red rose! Jack sits down and sees his clothing in front of him all clean and pressed. Jack looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotlessly clean. So is the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins, cringes when he sees a huge black eye staring back at him in the bathroom mirror, and notices a note on the table: "Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to go shopping - Love you!"

He stumbles to the kitchen and sure enough, there is hot breakfast and the morning newspaper. His son is also at the table, eating. Jack asks, "Son... what happened last night?"

"Well, you came home after 3:00am drunk and out of your mind. You broke some furniture, puked in the hallway, and got that black eye when you ran into the door."

"So, why is everything in such perfect order, so clean, I have a rose, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me?"

His son replies, Oh, THAT!... Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off, you screamed,

"Leave me alone, lady, I'm married!"

[thank my Mom for the joke]

Black box predicts the future?

"...But, according to a growing band of top scientists, this box has quite extraordinary powers. It is, they claim, the 'eye' of a machine that appears capable of peering into the future and predicting major world events.

The machine apparently sensed the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Centre four hours before they happened - but in the fevered mood of conspiracy theories of the time, the claims were swiftly knocked back by sceptics. But last December, it also appeared to forewarn of the Asian tsunami just before the deep sea earthquake that precipitated the epic tragedy..."

Snowflake Micro-Photography

Here's all the pics

"Snowflakes are temporary works of art. After just a few short minutes on the ground, a fallen snowflake will lose its ornate structure, its unique pattern that will never again be repeated. Photography allows us to preserve a few of these minute masterpieces and to examine their form up close. Below are some examples of snow crystal photographs from around the world.

The Rasmussen & Libbrecht Collection
These images are the result of a collaboration between Patricia Rasmussen and myself. I created a special super-high-resolution photomicroscopy apparatus designed especially for snow crystal photography (see Photographing Snow), and Patty used it along with her photographic talents to capture these stunning Wisconsin snowflakes. If you like these pictures, you'll really enjoy our new book."

IMB Release Party a Huge Success

We SOLD OUT the Tractor. Stats: 298 pre-sales, a line of 50 outside waiting to get in, and sold over 80 CD's. For those of you that were there, thanks for coming and you just don't know how much we appreciate your support. For those of you that didn't, i'm sorry you missed a great show. I think we had a DAT attached to the board, so a live album may come out of this one, cross your fingers.

I can't tell you how incredible it is to be up on stage playing music you love, and being deafened by the crowd yelling for more when you stop. We all feel so fortunate to have this opportunity, thanks to KMTT 103.7 The Mountain for playing such a huge role in making it happen.

Next gig: Jazzbones in Tacoma 2/12. Next Seattle gig: Triple Door 3/5

The NCAA (like the UN) is out of control

Asinine:

"It seemed like an innocent gesture after Washington's basketball game with Arizona State on Sunday when former UW football player Terry Johnson gave one of his Chicago Bears jerseys to Nate Robinson, apparently as a reward for Robinson having been the leading scorer in the game.

But it may also have been an NCAA violation, UW athletic director Todd Turner said yesterday."
